B-FY Pulse: Strengthening cybersecurity in an increasingly connected world

Our first in-person event in Madrid, B-FY Pulse, brought together experts in technology, cybersecurity, and digital regulation to address current challenges and trends in security and data protection. Successful case studies, use cases, and best practices in identification and authentication were shared during the event.

During the event, B-FY Pulse provided a space for reflection on cybersecurity, emphasizing the urgency to take action to protect people's identity and effectively address the challenges posed by the digital world. It highlighted the importance of collective action, digital regulation, and the use of biometrics as a secure form of authentication.

In his opening remarks, our CEO, Miguel Abreu, emphasized the importance of joining forces to battle criminal organizations that count on abundant resources. He also stressed that creative approaches and a focus on more innovative cybersecurity brands are essential to counter this trend.

Farewell to Passwords

Igor Lukic, founder of Hackron and cybersecurity expert, highlighted our continued dependence on passwords as a form of authentication. Lukic urged the audience to bid farewell to passwords and emphasized the importance of protecting against cyberattacks, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The expert explained how stolen data is traded on the Dark Web, exposing the vulnerabilities of passwords. During his presentation at B-FY Pulse, Lukic encouraged participants to take proactive measures to strengthen their security and protect their identity in an increasingly connected and vulnerable world.

Digital Regulation and Coordination between the Public and Private Sectors

European regulation of the digital ecosystem was another key topic during B-FY Pulse. María González Jover, Manager of Public Policy and Regulation at Adigital, emphasized the importance of establishing rules that can quickly adapt to the rapid pace of digital transformation.

She also stressed the need for greater coordination between the public and private sectors to promote digitization without negatively impacting the business sector. It was emphasized that Spain's upcoming presidency of the EU Council for six months presents a unique opportunity to influence digital regulation and define the cybersecurity rules of play in Europe.

Success Stories and Examples of Biometric Applications

The advantages of biometrics were demonstrated through success stories presented by Monique Jansen, Customers & Partners Success Manager at B-FY, and Miguel Abreu, CEO of the company.

They highlighted the case of Atio Group in Mexico. The implementation of B-FY's biometric solution has allowed this leading technology company in fuel supply automation and control to detect fraud and ensure the authenticity of drivers' identities when refueling vehicles.

The successful integration of B-FY into a Spanish online educational management platform was also mentioned, eliminating the use of passwords and verifying authorized student access to educational content. Additional references were made to successful experiences with clients such as the Madrid Golf Federation, Valhalla Strength Gym, IceCream Marketing Shop, and the Assen Circuit in the Netherlands.
